Well not like I’m much of a role model for bmx but i finally got to go riding today. My bike is working great and i am super happy with my new frame. Some of my friends have gotten fucked up from shitty parts recently so i thought i would post a list of parts i like and have been really happy with.
Frame:
I had a few bad frames in a row. I guess i just didn’t care for the geometry or something. I know frames are different for different people. Anyway i rode my new T1 Ruben Alcantera. T1 has always made great frames, great design, great quality, this one is no different. I was immediately comfortable on this frame. I had no trouble doing tricks i hadn’t done in months. It was nice to finally be on a bike that felt great and worked with me instead of against me.
Bars: Solid Hella Lite
I cannot say enough good things about these bars. They use 083 tubing or whatever and a thinner crossbar. I use to bend bars like crazy. I remember wrecking a few pairs in one day! I’ve had these bars for a year and a half and they are in perfect condition. They have taken a beating and they are fucking awesome! My number one part!
Stem: Solid
A lot of people copy this stem and with good reason. It’s a great design and works great. It’s never slipped and never let me down. You could buy a knock off but fuck that. You know the original is always the best 
HeadSet : Solid
It’s a little weird to get working right but like everything else solid it’s awesome. I had one for about 3 years, never had the cups crack, or do anything else that sucked. I really like these. I know their off the market but if you look hard enough you’ll find one. Their worth it!
Tires:
I like a v-monster in the front but they wear out pretty fast, so i don’t know if i can actually recommend them. The tire i really like for the rear is the Hoffman rotator. Their really low profile, high pressure, and never fucking wear out. The tread is great for ramps but they are impossible is put on or off.. If you get a flat your fucked!
Chains:
I fucking hate chains. They are so goddamn unreliable. I got the new shadow chain so we’ll see how that works. I got my fingers crossed. I have a new idea for a chain that would never break but i have a feeling it would be cost prohibitive.
Grips: ATI Rouges
John wold turned me on to these years ago. They are kinda thick but super soft. What the fuck I’m an old man and i like a little shock absorption. I think me, john wold, and vic murphy are the only people in the world that ride these grips. That’s a shame.
Bar Ends: Macneil
I may have my issues with Jay but Darcy is a fucking cool guy, and a great designer when it comes to bike parts. One thing i really like is their bar ends. Simple, light and just fucking work. Give them a shot.
Other Parts:
Other odds and ends i like are the usual, Tech 77 levers, DiaTech Hombre etc.
Thats about it. So try the parts listed above if you want. Maybe this posting is stupid. But i like hearing suggestions on parts from other riders so i thought i would share my thoughts.
