Some of you know i keep this picture of mat hoffman in my wallet. It’s crazy. It’s from the 88 Wichita contest. He’s 16 going like 11 feet out of a 8 foot vert quarter.

I found this pic on the net of Carlo Griggs.. I don’t think it really needs any explanation. 8 ft quarter 1989. FUCK!

This looks like a 12 foot wide ramp. bad ass none the less. I have never gone that high.

Carlo Griggs has always kicked ass! If memory serves me correct Matt even sponsored him at some point after starting Hoffman bikes.
The funny thing about going that high is you either panic at some point in going up or coming down and you throw your weight (causing you to float over the platform which would be a MAJOR hangup) or pull your weight (causing a FLAT bottom landing ). And we all know how bad either of those can SUCK!!!
BIG ramps Jamie are the key to happier life. I can believe how high some of those guys used to go on 8 ft. and live.
