I’m from a Minneapolis suburb called Coon Rapids. Seemed fine when i lived there but when i moved away and told people where i was from they would chuckle. It took me awhile to figure it out.

I guess people that actually still live there are starting to figure it out and they are thinking about changing the name of the city.

I think they should just leave it alone.. but i don’t live there anymore. I would be interested to see what they want to name it to.

Me and ryan, and a few revolving others were in a punk band for a number of years in the midwest called Hated Youth. It was tough and allot of work to be in that band, but we (almost) always had fun and had the best fans in the world.

I got this message through myspace today from a guy named Mitch:

You were the first person to make me dance. Doubt you remember me but maybe you do. I used to hang out with Mike Newton we were just little punk rockers and thought that you guys were the fuckin golden arches to life. My name is Mitch and I used to come into Rock Fashions And More or The Alternative (whichiver it was that week) and just watch Mike’s mom buy him clothes, then go to the Hated Youth/Crosscheck/Uphold show in James Mcabe’s frozen ass car. How fucken cool is that? As much money as we spent, fighting with band members, lugging equiptment in the snow.. Knowing that this guy enjoyed us enough to send me an email 10 years later and that we helped inspire him to pick up an insturment makes all the shitty times with the band totally worth it.
