Well i’ve sold my old laptop so now I’m with out a computer at home really. This explains (hopefully) why I’m slower than usual at replying to emails.

Anyway i should be ordering my new computer sometime this week and hopefully getting it by the end of next week! woohoo!

I’m biting the bullet and getting a dual 2 ghz mac book pro. 1.5 gig of ram and a 100 gig hard drive. It was tough to decide between a macbook and macbook pro. I think if i traveled more the MB would be the way to go. But in the end i decided i couldn’t go down in screen size.

This is also the first computer i’ll own with an intel chip. I’ve been a computer user for almost 16 years. So this is quite a switch for me. I’ve always had macs and my linux machines have always been AMD processors.

I’m not terribly stoked on intel as a company. I hear their workforce has one of the highest suicide rates. Sad.

But i think this is a great move for apple if it doesn’t bite them in the ass.. Which it may. They will get caught up in the processor upgrade nightmare that the PC companies are.

You see before the only computer with a G5 was from apple. Every 6 months or so they would make them a little faster.

You would buy it no matter what because that’s what apple gave you.

Intel puts out faster chips seems like on a weekly basis. If apple drags their feet on putting the fastest processors available people will balk at paying premium prices for apple hardware.

So apple is forced to play the game. Keep up with what intel is putting out. This is gonna mean more changes in documentation, printing shipping boxes, website changes etc etc. It’s gonna be allot of work apple.

This about this Macbook Pro came out in mid Feb. It’s now late may 4 months later and apple has bumped the speed on the macbook pros 3 times already!

This is gonna be a bumpy ride!

someone asked me what “blog up my ass” meant. Nothing really except the Circle Jerks do a song called “World Up My Ass” and so when i was setting up the blog software and it asked me to name the blog i put that.

Well i misplaced the phone number for my dream podcast so i’ll just type this one to ya.

I had a dream this morning that i was morrisey sitting in a cheys lounge being lifted over a beach by balloons. In my hand i had a gun and a clip board.

I looked like morrisey but it sounded like me when i talked. I was judging the American Idol contest. I would yell at the contestants for sucking. I would shoot out a balloon which would lower me a few feet and tell the contestants that they do NOT want me to come down there.

Weird.

My garbage is picked up every monday morning. When we have a holiday it’s picked up on tuesday. You think that would move the day back and from then on garbage would be picked up from tuesday, seeing as their a day behind.

Nope.. the next week it’s picked up on monday again. So either the city is getting screwed and garbage men are loafing around picking up garabage in 5 days that could be done in 4 or the garbage men are fucked and actually don’t get a day off cuz they have to do 2 days worth of work in one day basically doing 5 days worth of work in a 4 day week. Either way some one is getting screwed!

Well i found an extra 10 minutes in my day and switched blog tools on my website. So now it will be easier for me to post shit here. So hopefully that will make me post more!

Also it comes with a bunch of cool plugins and shit so i’ll be able to post via text message and post photos from my new cel phone.

It’s not all done yet but it will be soon.. and also it will be easier to post comments. So if your board come back more often. I’ll post shit. i swear

Apparently i’m always smoking and always in my car.

Well maybe this will only be big news to punk rock guitar nerds but it was a big deal to me. We’re recording on saturday and i was able to track down Lyle Preslar the guitarist from Minor Threat.

Lyle’s sound on the “Filler” release is the greatest punk guitar sound of all time. The riffs in those Minor Threat songs are so great, played with so much speed and intensity. No one played like that before. Lyle (and the rest of Minor Threat) basically invented american hardcore. He is one of my personal guitar heros and one of the greatest rhythm guitar players ever! Can you tell I’m a fan?

Anyway i was able to pick Lyle’s brain about their recording process and his guitar setup at the time. He was SO cool in his emails with me. Took the time to write me a 3 page email in response.

It’s not to often you get to ask questions to someone you admire so much and for them to be helpful and super friendly is such a treat. Thanks Lyle!
